I also met Heidi's friend
if not for the crazy assed rules he uses. I can't see how anyone could ever improve by playing the game like that.
Traditionally at Vincent's house (where most of Tralee Smash occurs), the rules are 3 stock, no items, final destination. All of
my hundreds of entries regarding Smash at Vincent's have used these rules.
Smash at my house usually is just slightly different in that it's usually 3 stock, no items, and I relax the stage select to allow a couple of traditional stages:
Final Destination, Battlefield, Corneria, Mute City etc. None of the crazy assed scrolling levels, or the stupid shit ones
like super flat zone. Sometimes if we're feeling crazy, we might turn items onto very low for a little.
Higher end stuff like stage recovery, spiking and edge guarding never came into play because its very easy to kill someone in a single hit from
zero damage.
When you can kill someone using Marth's counter from almost no damage, you know something is very wrong.
We also DDR'd for a little bit today, and I managed to do my first song with a perfect combo. 214 without missing a beat. Hooray for Dave.
Also I bought a load of Canadian chocolate bars I've never tasted before, Mirage, Hershey, Mr. Big, etc. I'll be trying these just
to expand my junk food palette.
Dave
Moral of today's story: When randomly exploding items are killing you more than your opponent, something isn't right.

But we have those in Ireland too, so not much point in me buying those here.

And if you get a chance try a max five. That's a good bar. It's got carmeal, peanut butter, pretzals, peanuts and choclate. *drools*

No items on smash? o_O I play standard stock games, random levels, all normal settings.. half the fun is abusing/countering items, and the mad dash for when the beam sword drops!
